Feature InterviewsA more in-depth look at people, places and issues surrounding the great outdoors.
August: The General Mountaineering Camp (GMC) has been an Alpine Club of Canada tradition since 1906. This year the camp was held in the shadow of Mt. Alexandra. Here is an account of what the GMC is all about.
June:
The Safari Club International - Northern Alberta Chapter held a "Sensory Safari" at the Royal Alberta Museum. Nature can often provide us with some amazing images. Writer and photographer Brad Fenson was able to spend some time with mating Sharp Tails.
March Features: I was joined by professional Guide Jeremy Mckenzie for a day out of bashing knuckles on the frozen waterfall ice of Two O'Clock Falls. This impressive waterfall is visible from the David Thompson Hwy 11. The falls are located just behind Cavalcade Campground in the Kootenay Plains area about 30 minutes west of Nordegg.
February Features: Depending on what side of the fence you sit, the loss of ATV trails across Alberta could be a sign of scaling back our precence in wildplaces, or viewed as an infringement of a past-time which, when carried out with respect is an amazing way to visit some remote areas of our province. Recently I sat down with Cal Rakach of the Alberta OHV to try and understand why closing the trails to ATV's is a growing issue. Listen.
